I was graciously given a tour of Cary Ballet Company, where I saw dedicated parents preparing the vibrant and dynamic costumes for the show. I also had the opportunity to sit in on several rehearsals, where I was deeply moved by the music and the dancers’ movements. Did you know that the Sugar Plum Fairy represents hope, faith, courage and transformation? \u003ci\u003eThe Nutcracker\u003c\/i\u003e is filled with so many inspirational themes, and I truly enjoyed creating this piece.\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eBase layers are acrylic covered with oil paint throughout. I use a palette knife for painting the majority of all of my pieces. Canvas is stretched cotton over wood.
